Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy ~ Arranged by Melanie Thorne
This concert overture was inspired by Mendelssohn’s visit to Final’s
Cave on the island of Staffa off the west coast of Scotland.
Mendelssohn scored this work for woodwind, brass, timps and strings
– this arrangement is faithful to the original score with adaptions only
to make the instrumental lines playable for this new scoring. (Grade 6-8)
